Fraternal Order of Police
Minutes October 4th, 2011
The regular monthly meeting was held October 4th
2011 in Bedford PA at the American Legion in Bedford.
All lodge officers were present except Trustees Leon Wagner and Chaplain
Flanagan.
President Kovel led the members in attendance with the Pledge of Allegiance and
the opening prayer.
MOTION
made by Brother Neil and second by Brother Sechoka to waive the reading of the
previous minutes. Motion passed.
SICKNESS AND DISTRESS
Brother Nosek had a stroke, Brother Max Shaffers wife suffered from a stroke,
and President Kovel injured his left arm.
REPORTS OF FINANCIAL SECRETARY/TREASURER
Treasurers report provided by Brother Cunningham.
MOTION
made by Brother Bob Kovel and second by Brother Sechoka to accept the report.
Motion passed.
REPORTS OF COMMITTEES
President Kovel reminded all of the Shrimp Feed Oct 12th at the
Bedford Legion. Cooking to begin at 0800 hrs.
MOTION
made by brother Guyer and second by brother Thomas to accept the report. Motion
passed.
BALLOTING OF CANIDIDATES
None
READING OF COMMUNICATIONS
E-mail from Deena Craig wanting to know the extent of the Lodge endorsing Mr
Steve Snook. E-mail replied to by Brother Friedenberger and read by President
Kovel.
UNFINISHED BUSINESS
Approx. 200 people attended the memorial dedication in Hollidaysburg . President
Kovel is still looking into a Memorial Stone for the Hollidaysburg Station.
NEW BUSINESS
None
GOOD OF THE ORDER
President Kovel and Secretary Evans spoke about the September Round Robin.
Senator Rafferty is running for the Republican ticket for PA Attorney General.
Treasurer Cunningham spoke about the meeting with the Captain.
MOTION
made by Brother Sechoka and second by Brother Friedenberger to pay the bills
against the Lodge, Motion passed.
MOTION
made by Brother Hetzel to Adjourn, second by Brother Snyder, motion passed.
