The regular monthly meeting was held January 3rd 2012 at the Bedford American Legion.

All lodge officers were present except President Kovel, Trustees Neil and Wagner, Conductor Hetzel, and Chaplain Flanagan.

Vice President Cornelius led the members in attendance with the Pledge of Allegiance and opening prayer. A moment of silence was also held in memory of brother Sgt Arthur Hershey who was killed in the line duty 13 years ago this date.

MOTION made by Brother Hershey and second by sister Kovel to deviate from normal business so a guest speaker could address those in attendance. Motion passed.

Guest speaker Brian A JEFFRIES, Financial Advisor for Lodge 57’s Edward Jones account informed the members of our standings with the account.

MOTION made by Brother Hershey and second by brother Hanna to waive the reading of the previous minutes. Motion passed.

REPORTS OF FINANCIAL SECRETARY/TREASURER – Treasurers report provided by Brother Cunningham and Special accounts report provided by Vice President Darrin Cornelius.

REPORTS OF COMMITTEES – Brother Mcgarvey related the family picnic at Delgrosso’s park is scheduled for Tuesday July 10^th 2012.

READING OF COMMUNICATIONS – Donation of $300.00 and Christmas card sent to the lodge by Brother Thomas Hassee.

MOTION made by Brother Friedenberger and second by brother Cornelius to send brother Hasse his 2012 FOP dues card as paid in full from the donation along with metal Active member FOP car insignia. Motion passed.

GOOD OF THE ORDER –

MOTION made by brother Bob Kovel and second by Brother Chaney to send the maximum number of delegates to the January Round Robin. Motion passed.

Brothers Cunningham discussed the meeting with the Captain.

Brother Blackburn spoke about current issues concerning our PSP Health plan with Highmark/BlueShield.

MOTION made by Brother Gliechman and second by brother Blackburn to proceed with a new gun raffle as a lodge fundraiser with brother Cornelius assisting with the same. Motion passed. Brother Cornelius agreed to ASSIST with the raffle but related he needs additional assistance if we are to have the raffle again.

Lodge 57 Retirement certificates mailed in December 2011 to remaining brothers who had no yet received their plaques at past meetings.
