Fraternal Order of Police

Minutes Feb. 2nd, 2010

The regular monthly meeting was held February 2nd, 2010 at the Alexandria Fire Hall in Huntingdon PA.

The following Lodge officers were not present; President Kovel, Vice President Cornelius, Trustees Bob Kovel & Ray Neil, Conductor Weimer, and Chaplain Flanagan.

Ex-President Friedenberger led the members in attendance with the Pledge of Allegiance and gave the opening prayer.

MOTION made by Brother Leon Wagner and second by Brother Sneath to waive the reading of the previous minutes. Motion passed.

SICKNESS AND DISTRESS – Brother R.P. Moore is recovering from back surgery and Brother Russ Miller is recovering from heart surgery.

REPORTS OF FINANCIAL SECRETARY/TREASURER – Treasurers report provided by Brother Cunningham.

MOTION made by Brother Kevin Campbell and second by Brother Johns to accept the reports. Motion passed.

REPORTS OF COMMITTEES – Brother Mcgarvey spoke about last years and the upcoming FOP family picnic at Del Grosso park.

MOTION made by brother Bill Wagner and second by brother Johns to accept Mcgarvey’s report. Motion passed.

BALLOTING OF CANIDIDATES – One ballot for active membership being Andrew Corle stationed at Huntingdon. Brother Corle supplied sufficient dues as well.

MOTION made by Brother Campbell and second by Brother Cunningham to accept the candidate. Motion unanimously passed.

READING OF COMMUNICATIONS – Secretary Evans read a letter of request the Lodge received to support the Mceldowney Academic Scholarship Fund.

UNFINISHED BUSINESS – None.

NEW BUSINESS – None

GOOD OF THE ORDER – Brother Friedenberger, Secretary Evans, and Treasurer Cunningham discussed topics from the January Round Robin.

Treasure Cunningham discussed the meeting with the Captain.

MOTION made by Brother Sneath and second by Brother McGarvey to send the maximum number of delegates allowed to the state and National Memorials. Motion passed.

MOTION made by Secretary Evans and second by Brother Cummings to make a donation to the MAC Scholarship Fund in the amount of $200.00. Motion passed.

MOTION made by Brother Cummings and second by Brother Campbell to pay the bills against the Lodge, Motion passed.

MOTION made by Brother Friedenberger to Adjourn, second by Brother Evans, motion passed.

MARCH MEETING at the Knights of Columbus in Hollidaysburg PA, March 2nd at 7:30PM

Representative from AFLAC scheduled to be at the March meeting to talk about and answer questions to anybody interested in their supplement insurance policies.
